Mad Dogs Bite K A Paul

K A Paul is one name who once became the hottest topic of discussion with his controversial revelations about the misdoings of YSR and his government but in barely less than 48 hours, an even better truth was revealed, that this man has gone nuts.

He said that he is not behind political powers as he kicked away the Nobel Peace Prize that was offered to him. Well, when was that announced!! People say that he is talking that nonsense as he was bitten by mad dogs.

With perhaps the most inconsistent talk about his views on government and politics, this preacher has got the nerves in him to make statements such as he was given a post of a political portfolio but he rejected it and Venkatswamy should be honored with Bharat Ratna for his invaluable service. There have been some really hilarious situations with this man when he got down to do a satyagraha protesting against the government and disappeared in barely 2 days. Then came his startling announcement that he would soon be joining politics and put an end to the YSR regime which still stands on one foot. While his words have become a common topic for having a good humor than anything else, a serious version of this man's story tells that he owns a private Boeing flight and apparently used to get Rs 300 Cr per annum from various Christian Organizations for peace missions, which was stopped by YSR. This has put Paul in a deep mess and he is not even in a position to maintain the aircraft which is said to be one of the root causes of all this maddening statements from him.

Take it or leave it, he surely is a new form of entertainment for most of the public

Telangana State Becomes More-Backward

The Sankranthi has taught lesson for TRS leaders, say a few. The observation is that almost 80 percent of roads were seen without traffic in the last two days as many have left for native towns. If a festival shows this scantiness, what about if separate Telangana state forms?

The situation has given vent for an observation. There is ample income for government from every district in Andhra region. There are lots of people who are paying taxes and also generating income with the natural resources available there. What about Telangana districts? The state is now getting very lesser income from those districts. If separate state forms, how the state would survive without sufficient income?

Above all, the population wouldn't migrate completely but at least 30 percent would go. The remaining settlers will continue living in Hyderabad. On a whole, the income generated from Telangana districts wouldn't be sufficient for the state to flourish. It would become still-backward if the separate state forms, say analysts.

aif and Kareena: Wedding bells to ring in a year

Everyone knows that Saif Ali Khan wears his love for Kareena on his sleeve.

Admitting for the first time to the tattoo, Saif says, “Yes, I’ve tattooed her name. It’s on my forearm.”

Says a buddy, “There’s a single-minded determination in Saif to make this relationship work. After Rozza, there were several link-ups but Saif doesn’t like the casanova image.

He wants stability in his life. He believes he has found it in Kareena.”

Marriage is definitely on the cards. Friends say it could happen within a year.

Rumour mill puts Babu to trouble

The rumour mill worked over time on Wednesday in Hyderabad. The rumour was that Telangana leaders in the Telugu Desam were holding a secret conclave to decide their future course of action. The rumours spread like wild fire and newspaper offices were flooded with calls from anxious readers.

According to sources, Telugu Desam supremo N Chandrababu Naidu was first shocked at the "news" that a group of his partymen were holding a secret meeting without his knowledge, and that too on the controversial and sensitive issue of Telangana. But Chandrababu Naidu later appeared to a highly relieved man once it became clear that the "news" was no news but a pure rumour being circulated by some vested interests.

Chandrababu Naidu, to ensure that there's no T-talk in the party, has convened a meeting of senior leaders from all the three region on the pretext of holding a review of the arrangements for the proposed BC Garjana scheduled for January 23. Telangana protege T Devendar Goud and north coastal Andhra leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu were also present. These two leaders created ripples in the Telugu Desam causing anxious moments for Chandrababu Naidu. In fact, Chandrababu Naidu had to spent several sleepless nights as the Telangana talk in the party gained momentum and things appeared going out of hand. But Dame Luck smiled on the TD chief and everything settled down for the time being. But Wednesday's rumours will continue to haunt the TD supremo for many days to come and he will have to keep a tab on the movements of his party leaders, particularly from the backward Telangana region.

TRS deadline is KCR lifeline

The yet another deadline fixed by Telangana Rashtra Samithi for the UPA government announcing the formation of separate Telangana is considered to be nothing but a lifeline for its president K Chandrasekhar Rao.

It was only the previous day that KCR had announced cancellation of his proposed public meetings at Karimnagar and Warangal stating that he was happy with the statement of AICC incharge of AP affairs Veerappa Moily that there was no connection between Telangana and the second SRC proposal. Within 24 hours, KCR came out with an aggressive statement threatening that all his MP, MLAs and MLCs would resign from their posts, if the UPA does not announce separate Telangana.

So, what happened in those 24 hours? Sources in the TRS say KCR has got the inside information from New Delhi that Sonia Gandhi was convinced by Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy's argument that there was no need for granting separate Telangana and that he would handle the political situation till the next elections. The Chief Minister also told Sonia that there was no immediate threat even from Chiranjeevi and that the atmosphere is very positive for the Congress right now.

This has promoted KCR to take the drastic decision, since it is inevitable to breathe in new life into the party, which is in a state of confusion. The resignation is the best way to bring pressure on the Congress leaders from the region, who in turn would step up pressure on the high command. KCR's move has definitely caught YSR in surprise, but as usual, he maintained cool and put up a brave fron

Media engineers split in TRS

Within minutes of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao making the announcement of fixing March 6 deadline for the UPA to grant the Telangana State, the electronic media tried their best to find out whether there is any dissidence in the TRS over KCR's decision.

They got a right opportunity after one hour. They came to know that some TRS MLAs went to the residence of senior Congress MLA V Purushottam Reddy. Without verifying the facts, a TV channel has started "breaking news" stating that some disgruntled TRS MLAs are holding secret talks with some Congress MLAs. Yet another channel played mischief stating that a few other TRS MLAs went to the house of Congress Working Committee member G Venkatswamy. All the reporters went there, only to find that nothing was happening there. Another channel said the TRS MLAs escaped from the scene after seeing mediapersons. No channel, however, could give the names of the MLAs who met the Congress leaders.

Finally, it turned out to be a hoax. What happened was a few TRS MLAs, led by Harish Rao (KCR's nephew), indeed went to the residence of Purushottam Reddy and sought his support to the TRS strategy. Harish Rao told the Congress leader that it would be better if the Congress MLAs from Telangana, too, followed the resignation plan. But Purushottam Reddy politely turned down their request and said the Congress had its own strategy to get the Telangana State. So, that is the story!

Ticker: Cabinet mantra to stop T-turmoil?

The best way to silence the Telangana voice in the Congress party is to give those leaders some posts.

That is what Chief Minister Dr Y S Rajasekhar Reddy appears to have decided. When he brought to the notice of Sonia Gandhi that some senior leaders in the party are making hue and cry over Telangana, she reportedly asked him what he could do to silence them. YSR is understood to have suggested that it would be better, if these leaders are accommodated in the Cabinet, by expanding the same. He pointed out that the die-hard Telangana protagonists like Chinna Reddy and Jeevan Reddy have now gone silent after being taken into the Cabinet. He sought permission of the Madam to expand the Cabinet, so that he would give Cabinet berths to seniors like Purushottam Reddy, MSR and Amos to suppress their voice.

And he also gave an advice to Sonia: "Please take Venkatswamy also into the Union Cabinet. That would solve a major headache." What an idea!!
