Media engineers split in TRS

Within minutes of Telangana Rashtra Samithi president K Chandrasekhar Rao making the announcement of fixing March 6 deadline for the UPA to grant the Telangana State, the electronic media tried their best to find out whether there is any dissidence in the TRS over KCR's decision.

They got a right opportunity after one hour. They came to know that some TRS MLAs went to the residence of senior Congress MLA V Purushottam Reddy. Without verifying the facts, a TV channel has started "breaking news" stating that some disgruntled TRS MLAs are holding secret talks with some Congress MLAs. Yet another channel played mischief stating that a few other TRS MLAs went to the house of Congress Working Committee member G Venkatswamy. All the reporters went there, only to find that nothing was happening there. Another channel said the TRS MLAs escaped from the scene after seeing mediapersons. No channel, however, could give the names of the MLAs who met the Congress leaders.

Finally, it turned out to be a hoax. What happened was a few TRS MLAs, led by Harish Rao (KCR's nephew), indeed went to the residence of Purushottam Reddy and sought his support to the TRS strategy. Harish Rao told the Congress leader that it would be better if the Congress MLAs from Telangana, too, followed the resignation plan. But Purushottam Reddy politely turned down their request and said the Congress had its own strategy to get the Telangana State. So, that is the story!
